Work Placements
The SHARE partners are delighted to be able to extend our learning experience through the SHARE the Experience work placements project. These are funded through the Leonardo Mobilities programme, also part of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme.
We offered 4 work placements in October 2010 and have 4 more in spring 2010 for people in Scotland who have used support services to turn their lives around and are now volunteering to support others. The placements will be at a range of innovative services in and near Stockholm. These include:
- Basta! working with people overcoming addictions
- jHouse working with people overcoming psychological and practical blocks
- Livsval, an ESF project drawing together service user-led voluntary organisations with a "people's university" designed to let people move at their own pace in their education
In May 2011 we also offered placements at Basta, Compassion and Kamrat Oasen. The last two, whom we met through the first work placements at Livsval.
You can meet the October 2010 participants and watch their videos from the training days, then read their blogs about the work placements, and get involved in setting up new services here, based on our learning in Sweden and here. Also find out what they're doing now, starting with how Gwen's using what she learned. See also the blogs from the May work placements.
